Sepik Basket

Sepik Baskets are made from a special plants that normally grows in a swampy areas along the mighty Sepik River. Elderly women and young girls collected bundles and dried them in the Sun. After few days both men and young boys who are interested in weaving the baskets start weaving it. The prices are also depends on each sizes and the pattern applied in weaving the basket. Many tourists normally visit the famous Sepik River for surfing and also to purchasing in bulks after they have seen it from the company's shop online.

However, some of the baskets are also made from other parts of the country especially from the Island Regions which are not on the above display, like East and West New Britain, New Island, Manus and Bogainville.
